Patients came, many traveling long distances and experiencing extreme discomfort to attend. One at a time patients stepped up to the podium and told their story. Some were frightened, but they stepped up anyway. Others listened, learned and felt empowered by the shared experience. Some attendees were able to meet their own legislators, a first time experience for many. We are happy for each and every one who cared enough to show up and take advantage of this educational event.
